Opinions differ on experience factor

NEW YORK — Four teams, one winner.

The Cardinals finished with the worst regular-season record, but have the most postseason experience among the four teams remaining. They’ve been to the National League Championship Series five times in the last seven years. The Mets, their opponents this week, have been this far just twice since 1988.

On the other side, the A’s hadn’t been to the American League Championship Series since 1990, and the Tigers hadn’t been there since 1987.

Search For Clues In Plane Crash That Killed Lidle

(CBS 5 / AP) NEW YORK Investigators sifted through debris inside a Manhattan Upper East Side luxury high-rise apartment Thursday for clues to why a small airplane carrying New York Yankees – and former Oakland A’s – pitcher Cory Lidle slammed into the building, killing the pitcher and his flight instructor.National Transportation Safety Board member Debbie Hersman said investigators found debris scattered everywhere at the crash scene, including aircraft parts and headsets on the ground. The propeller separated from engine, which landed on the floor of an apartment. Investigators also obtained the pilot’s log book.
